How do I choose a madhab, and what if they all seem fine to me as someone with no knowledge?
So if you don't have a madhab, don't worry. Allah says in the Quran, فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ ذِكْرِ إِن كُنْتُمْ لَتَعْلَمُونَ Ask somebody of knowledge, whoever that person may be that you trust, and they will be able to give you an appropriate opinion because they would have studied and gone through the texts and gone through the madhabs and so on. So if you don't know, just ask somebody you trust, whoever that scholar may be. If you're studying, then it's always best to study with a madhab because a madhab provides you with principles that you can approach the Quran, how you understand rulings, how we then make rulings relevant to new issues that are coming up today. So that's if you're studying, then study any of the four madhabs really because all of them will provide you with principles. But if you don't have a madhab, then don't worry. It can be complicated. Just ask a person of knowledge that you trust.
