So how do we know if something's mutilating one's body? If it goes against what's the norm or the custom in your area, then it would be considered to be something out of the ordinary and potentially mutilating one's body. So piercings such as ear piercings, nose piercings, and so on, they're within the norm. There's no real difference of opinion whether you're in one country or another. It's generally considered to be the norm. So inshallah, that would be fine. But just be aware that other piercings, they may vary depending on where you are in the world and what the norm or the custom of the Muslims are in that particular area.
