If husband says he wants a divorce, is that a divorce?

Saying 'I want a divorce' is likely not a valid divorce as it differs from the direct pronouncement 'I divorce you', but final rulings require scholarly consultation on the exact wording and context. divorce, pronouncement, wording, scholarly consultation, marriage, fiqh ruling https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WSf_Gq_a9AY
So you have to be very particular with the wording here. If somebody says they want a divorce, that's different from saying 'I divorce you'. And so saying that 'I want to divorce' would not potentially count as a divorce because it's not somebody specifically directly saying that they're divorcing them. So that may not count. But all of these issues, the sensitive ones, they need to be discussed in detail with an individual scholar to go through the exact context and the exact wording of what was said.
