Is a wife divorced if her husband says 'we are done, it's over; get out my house' with divorce intention?
So if he says we are done with the intention of divorce, now divorce is something that you have to take very seriously in Islam. It doesn't necessarily have to be the word talaq. It could be any of those variations. You could say the word divorce, for example, in different language, and the key thing is the intention: what did you intend with that, and is it clear in terms of what you meant? So yes, potentially it may well count if that was his intention and that is what he was saying. Any of these sensitive issues, we always say you need to have both parties sit down and discuss with a judge so they can go through the exact intention, the exact context, and give a specific ruling for yourself. But generally speaking, if somebody has that intention and is said in those words, then it would count as one divorce.
