For females, do you need to wear socks when we pray?

So two views on this, let me explain both. The first view is the view of the majority of scholars, which is that one needs to cover their feet when they are praying. The second view is the view of the Hanifi madhhab and other prominent scholars, for example, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Uthaymeen, and they say that no, you do not need to cover your feet whilst you are praying. With regards to the feet, it means what is below the ankle. So ankle and above must be covered. Now, why is there a difference of opinion? So the majority say that there's a narration from the Prophet ﷺ where he said to Umm Salimah that as long as you have something in your lower garments that you're wearing that covers the tops of your feet, you can pray. Meaning that, implying that one would need to cover their feet. The second view responds to this and say, well, it isn't actually a hadith. It's something known as mawquf. Mawquf means a statement of the companion. It doesn't reach the level of the Prophet ﷺ. And they say that also at the time of the Prophet ﷺ, it would have been known that females in their own houses would have had their faces, their hands and their feet uncovered.
