Do sandals in ihram need to be open-toed and keep the foot exposed?

There are two valid views: the majority says the ankle must be exposed, while the Hanafi madhab requires the forefoot to be exposed. ihram, sandals, males, fiqh-differences, hajj-umrah https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FsJxtWtE5l8
For men in ihram there are two views with regards to sandals. The majority view is the hadith in Sahih Bukhari the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned the word 'kaab' that refers to the ankle. So as long as the ankle is exposed then you could wear that footwear. For example Crocs, as long as the strap doesn't go over the ankle and the ankle is exposed, no problem with that. In the Hanafi madhab however, the same word the 'kaab' refers to the forefoot. So what that means is you need to expose the forefoot and just have those type of sandals that have the two prongs at the front. That's what you would wear in the Hanafi madhab. But according to the majority, as I mentioned, as long as the ankle is exposed that would be fine. Both views are valid and this is for males. So for males this is what you would do.
