Is photography haram?

photographyharaamhadithimagesidolssuwar
No, photography is not Haraam because the hadith refers to physically creating idols, not to taking photographs. photography, haraam, hadith, images, idols, suwar https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bmaPKymJHqw
So this particular hadith is not talking about photography as such, you can take pictures, you can use your phone and no issue with that. What the hadith, the word suwar, we have to understand it, how was it used at the time of the Prophet ﷺ, what did they mean by that? And when you particularly look at various other hadiths, to suwar, to fa'ala means to physically do something. So at that time it was referring to physically creating an idol, physically creating something from scratch. A photograph, you're not physically creating anything, it's an identical image, it's like a mirror, you look in a mirror for example, it's the exact same thing. So no issue with photographs as such, you know, go ahead, use your mobile, take your selfies, no issue with it.
