So you know the husbands are the leaders and in charge of their households. The Prophet said that each of you is a shepherd and is in charge of your flock, meaning your family, your community, your household and so on. Now with regards to communicating this with your husband, this can be a sensitive issue. One of the things you want to just be careful of is that it doesn't come across as though you are belittling him or that he feels that he's being dictated to, although it might not be intended from yourself. It's just important that he doesn't have that impression and such. So what I'll do is maybe flip it the other way around and say to him that you are our leader, you are the one who's in charge of us and responsible for us, and we appreciate that. In order to help solidify this, we think that there's a couple of things that we can help with that will build and strengthen the relationship. So use it as a means of empowering him rather than using it as a means he may feel as though he's being belittled in any way.
