Is playing any dice game like Ludo haram?

So two views on this. The first view is that it's not allowed because the various ahadith that mention dice refer to a general prohibition as such. The second view is that no it is allowed because the reason for the prohibition was if it was a game that was purely based on luck, on chance, on gambling and so on. So as long as there's an element of thought, of intellect, of strategy, tactics and so on whilst you're playing the game then inshallah it is permissible.
