Do breastfeeding or pregnant women need to fast during Ramadan?
So if you're concerned about your health or the baby's health for example, Allah says in the Quran فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيدًا Whoever has a temporary form of illness, you could be exempt from fasting and you would just need to make it up at a later point in time. So it's not obligatory if you are concerned as I mentioned beforehand, you can make up those fasts later on. Important to note, according to the vast majority of scholars, the overwhelming majority of scholars, the former dahib, you would need to still make up those fasts at a later point in time. It wouldn't be just paying Fidya for example for those days because it's a temporary condition. It's not like an ongoing permanent medical condition for example, somebody that has renal failure, rather breastfeeding is temporary and so you would need to therefore make up those days later on even if it was years down the line for example.
